About Me

the template story

The main thing that I found when I first started designing was the severe lack of accessible ways to create concepts. Almost everyone I was following used the Sports Templates jersey template, but that was $80. Way too much for a kid in Grade 10. So I decided that I would make my own. How hard could it be? I used the Sports Templates tutorial videos as a reference to see how they made theirs and created the very rudimentary Adidas Adizero Template V.1  (which you can still download by clicking the "old site" tab). After creating the template I figured there where probably a bunch of other people who also had the same issue of availability as I did, so I made the template available to everyone for free.

Initially, I made it free because I personally didn't believe it was good enough to warrant someone spend their own money on it. But as I made more and more templates, and got better and better, I kept releasing them for free because I didn't know how to set up an online store and it was just easier to share a Google Drive link. Also the fact that I loved seeing everyone freely use the template without having to worry about paying a stupid amount for it.

Now, there are tons of incredible templates available for aspiring jersey designers like I was. Guys like Orion Taylor are making hockey design much more accessible with insanely high quality templates available for super good prices (do check him out). The hockey jersey design community has never been as talented as it does right now and I am super proud just to be a small part of it.

Happy designing!!
